Hello! My name is Harrison and I am almost 9 years old.
I also have a big brother James (aged 10) who loves me lots and is a wonderful caring boy - I also had a little sister Kate who is recently became an angel in heaven, she was a sick little girl, who didn't grow up to be big like me! Our mum and dad's names are Fiona & Mark.
Our journey as a family has been long and hard, having had two children with special needs - we have literally spent hundreds of thousands of dollars of our own money on therapy, services and equipment to provide our children with the things they need in order to get the best start in life - financially we just can't continue to do this.
Harrison was diagnosed as Autistic aged 2 1/5 and later a cardiac SVT - Harrison commenced early intervention at age two and has made good progress however he still requires intensive therapy and educative support in order to continue to develop his language, reading and writing skills. Like many parents "we want Harrison to be able to contribute to society in whatever way he is capable of and be happy and content in life"- these funds are imperative to making a difference for him so that he CAN have the opportunity to be able to achieve what others do so easily.
Funding is needed for educational equipment, intensive therapy, medical interventions much needed in-home support and respite.
It really does take a village to raise a child - in our case much, much more. You can help by making a donation or sending this link to those you know.
Your help is appreciated with heartfelt gratitude.
Yours sincerely
Mark & Fiona Engwirda
